The
insidious Executor and advance agent of the Yuuzhan Vong was responsible
for much of the chaos that engulfed the galaxy in the war some 20
years after the fall of the Empire. Hated and despised by both the
Republic, and the Yuuzhan Vong elite that surrouned him, Nom Anor
was a personal focus of hatred for Mara Jade during the war.
As the Empire crumbled from within, Nom Anor first appeared as a mysterious
cloaked figure to the head of the Imperial Council, whom he betrayed
and had murdered upon the collapse of the Imperial inner circle. It
is unknown how many guises Nom Anor went through, but at one point,
Nom Anor came face to face with a Jedi, Mara Jade. During their first
meeting, he infected Mara Jade with a deadly poison, known as the
Coomb Spore.
Nom Anor appeared and dissappeared in various guises, inciting riots
and anti-Republic and anti-droid sentiments on every world he reached.
Once the Yuuzhan Vong invaded, he acted as their greatest source of
information. Nom Anor was the mastermind behind many plots to eliminate
the Jedi. At one point in the war, he even appeared on Coruscant before
the senate, requesting a cease fire in exchange for the surrender
of all the Jedi to the Yuuzhan Vong.
After the disasterous Yuuzhan Vong defeat at Ebaq, Nom Anor was blamed
for the misinformation that led to the total rout of the fleet. Rather
then accepting his fate, Nom Anor fled, eventually taking the guise
of Yu'shaa, the so-called Prophet of the Heretics. He attempted to
gain power by preaching that the Jedi were the salvation for the lower
classes and Shamed Ones among the Yuuzhan Vong. As even this failed,
Nom Anor fled back to Shimmra, the Yuuzhan Vong commander, desperate
for his favor. As the Jedi began to retake Coruscant, and the depths
of Shimmra's insanity were revealed, Nom Anor turned coat once again,
leading the heretics against the Yuuzhan Vong warriors.
In the final battle for Coruscant, Mara Jade confronted Nom Anor,
the source of her illness and the being personally responsible for
much of the death and destruction that had filled her life during
the war. She came her closest to the Dark side in her conflict with
Nom Anor, but in the end, spared him, if only to use the control he
had over the Yuuzhan Vong heretics. But true to his nature, Nom Anor
finally met his fate when he attempted to betray the Jedi. He attacked
his would-be saviors, only to be cut down by Leia Organa Solo. In
his crippled state, he refused the mercy of his enemies, and finally
accepted death, knowing that as long as he lived, he would never know
peace. |

Smuggler,
gambler, businessman, and lover, Lando Calrissian is a man of many
titles. But whatever hat he wears, he's always trying to find the
most profitable enterprise in the galaxy.
Lando first encountered Mara Jade while she was in the employ of Talon
Karrde. During the Sun Crusher crisis, Lando even had a brief affair
with Mara. It was a profitable, if unsuccessful, romantic exchange
that lead to the creation of the Smuggler's Alliance. As the war with
the Empire finally ended, Lando eventually settled down with a fellow
business woman, Tendra Risant.
Lando has remained on good terms with Mara, and has remained a great
supporter of the Republic and the Jedi. Many of his business ventures
have led him straight into the path of war between the Republic and
the Empire, and more recently, the Republic and the Yuuzhan Vong.
At the onset of the war with the Yuuzhan Vong, Lando's most recent
enterprise was among the first targets of the invaders. Running a
mining colony on the worlds of Destrillion and Dubrillion, Lando was
forced to evacuate the planet due to a Vong attack. Outraged, he and
Tendra co-founded a new company, Tendrando Arms, dedicated to financing
and constructing anti-Vong weaponry, including the deadly YVH Yuuzhan
Vong hunter Droids, and modified Mouse Droids capable of detecting
Yuuzhan Vong spies disguised with Ooglith Cloakers.
As the war progressed, Lando's weaponry provided much needed aid against
the Invaders, and due to his friendship with Mara and the others,
he always sold his weaponry to the Republic at discount. |
