JANUARY
2003
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who sent greeting and holiday
wishes to my family and me. We appreciate it very much. The wedding
went very well. No hitches or craziness. (If you can believe that.)
Thanks to Cobalt Grille and my fan and friend Alvin for hosting it
there. Things were so beautiful. I'll make certain I post a picture
when we get them all back.
Just a week later was Christmas. My husband's entire family traveled
from the Sacramento area in California to see us here at the beach.
That went well, also, although I found myself completely exhausted
afterward. There's nothing like cooking a 25 pound turkey for the
first time! We all spent a cozy, quiet day here at home, eating, talking,
watching movies, just being together. The way Christmas should be,
I think. We also felt the baby kick for the first time that night,
just before bed. It made the day complete.
To back track for just a moment, I wanted to let you know about Germany.
I didn't realize how awful the flights would be while pregnant. I'll
think thru that one twice next time. It was nice to see so many old
friends. Michonne, Richard, Jeremy, Jerome, Femi, Garrick, Dave, and
so may others. And it was nice to finally meet Ray. He and his wife
were very nice, very friendly. The German fans were also nice. So
many people had well wishes for the baby and Willow . The only hang-ups
were problems with the promoter. That isn't uncommon, unfortunately.
But thanks to all those who showed up. I hope you had a great time!
So now we're getting ready for New Year's. Jamie and I will be heading
to a favorite local place for dinner and dancing to celebrate. It's
where we met a little over three years ago. Croc's at the beach. After
that, we have to get this house sold and get ourselves moved. It's
time for Jamie to be a college student again! So make certain everyone
roots for Maryland on the court and field this year!
Well, all for now. Thank you to Alan and friends for doing such a
good job with the site. To all of you: Have a Happy New Year. Be safe.
Call a cab. And don't forget to say a little prayer for all of our
people overseas getting ready for war. They are a long way from everyone
who loves them! Oh, and welcome home Lea! and the rampagers! Good
job, we're glad to have you all back! God Bless!
